Feedback and feedback literacy

Feedback can be one of the most powerful influences on learning and achievement - but only when done well. In this talk I focus on how to design effective feedback situations and how to develop learners who can make the most of feedback.

Assessment design for a time of artificial intelligence

AI can do so much of what we have traditionally assessed. In this talk I explore how we can design assessment that’s both great for learning, and secure in a time of AI.

Why only two options?!

I would rather offer two excellent talks than maintain several good ones. The two talks I have cover important, pressing issues in higher ed that I have been researching for a decade or more. They are extensively road-tested and up to date.

I am also an award-winning educator with more than 20 years of experience.

I’ve given hundreds of talks over six continents, including keynotes at major conferences, invited talks at universities including Cambridge, California, and Hong Kong, and organisations such as the OECD, TEQSA and the QAA.

For online talks, I have a high-quality microphone, camera and lighting setup, along with two Internet connections for extra reliability.

I love to get my work out there to an international audience. If you’re running a free online event and can bring a big audience in the hundreds, with at least 100 attendees from outside your institution, I don’t charge a fee.

Paid online talks
